Effective from 16 October 2026

Terms and conditions

These terms govern the rental of computers through the website bohemiansilicon.com. Please read them before you pay. By paying for a rental you agree to them.

1. Provider

The service is provided by Jakub Mokříš, a sole trader registered in the Czech Trade Register, Company ID (IČO) 88296067, place of business Bojmany 38, 286 01 Žehušice, Česká republika, email jakub@mokris.cz. We are not registered for VAT.

2. The service

We rent out dedicated Apple Mac computers with remote access over SSH or remote desktop through an encrypted private network (Tailscale). During the rental the whole machine is reserved for one customer, who receives their own user account. Administrator rights are granted on request. The minimum rental period is 24 hours.

Machines marked as waitlist are not yet available. An inquiry for them only puts you on the waitlist and creates no obligation for either side.

3. How a contract is made

You send an inquiry through the form on the website. We check availability and email you an offer with the final price, the rental period and a payment link. The contract is concluded when you pay the offered price. Until then, neither side is bound.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are listed on the website in euros (in Czech crowns on the Czech version) and are final. Because we are not registered for VAT, no VAT is added. Longer rentals are automatically charged at the cheaper weekly or 30-day rate.

Payment is made in advance, by card through the secure payment page of Stripe, or by bank transfer. We never see or store your card details. You receive an invoice after payment.

5. Access

We send your login details by email within 24 hours of payment, but not earlier than one hour before the rental starts. The rental runs from the agreed start date and time to the agreed end.

We add one hour free of charge to every rental: the Mac is available to you one hour before the agreed start, so you can set up the connection in peace. This hour is not charged.

6. Cancellation and refunds

To cancel, email jakub@mokris.cz. If we cannot provide the machine for the agreed period, you get a full refund or, if you prefer, another date. Refunds are paid within 14 days to the original payment method.

These rules do not limit your statutory rights as a consumer described in the next section.

7. Right of withdrawal for consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of its conclusion without giving a reason, by sending us a clear statement by email. If you asked for the rental to start within those 14 days, you pay a proportionate part of the price for the time provided until you withdrew. Once the rental has been fully provided at your express request, and you acknowledged that you would lose the right of withdrawal by doing so, the right of withdrawal no longer applies.

8. Acceptable use

You may use the machine only lawfully. In particular, you may not:

If you breach these rules, we may end the rental immediately without a refund. You are liable for any damage caused by such use.

9. Availability

We do our best to keep the machines running, but we do not offer a formal service level agreement (SLA). If an outage on our side lasts more than 4 hours, we extend your rental by one day free of charge, or refund the price of one day if an extension is not possible. We announce planned maintenance in advance by email.

10. Your data

You are responsible for backing up your data. When the rental ends, your account and all data on the machine are permanently deleted. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

11. Liability

Our total liability for damage arising from a rental is limited to the price you paid for it. We are not liable for loss of data, lost profit or indirect damage. This limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or where the law does not allow liability to be limited, including towards consumers.

12. Complaints and disputes

Send complaints by email to jakub@mokris.cz. We deal with them without undue delay, at the latest within 30 days. Consumers may also use out-of-court dispute resolution through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, www.coi.cz).

13. Governing law

These terms and the contract are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. Disputes with business customers are decided by the courts of the Czech Republic.

14. Changes

We may change these terms. The version in force on the day you paid applies to your rental.
