Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Bohemian Silicon processes, why, and what rights you have. It applies to the website bohemiansilicon.com, to rental inquiries and to the rental of Macs.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller is Jakub Mokříš, a sole trader registered in the Czech Trade Register, Company ID (IČO) 88296067, place of business Bojmany 38, 286 01 Žehušice, Česká republika. You can reach us about anything related to your data at jakub@mokris.cz.

2. What we process and why

Rental inquiries

Data: name or company, email address, the machine and dates you chose, access method, and what you write about how you will use the Mac.

Purpose: replying to your inquiry and preparing an offer.

Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Retention: 12 months from our last contact if no rental follows. After that the inquiry is deleted.

Customers

Data: the inquiry data above, billing details (name or company, address, VAT or company number), contract and invoices, payment records.

Purpose: providing the rental, invoicing and keeping accounting records.

Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and compliance with legal obligations under Czech accounting and tax law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

Retention: for the duration of the contract. Invoices and accounting records are kept for as long as Czech law requires, up to 10 years.

Access to the rented Mac

Data: your username, SSH public key, and the IP addresses and times of connections to the Mac.

Purpose: giving you access, keeping the machine secure and investigating misuse.

Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in the security of the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention: connection logs for 30 days. Your account is deleted when the rental ends.

Visiting the website

The website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. Fonts and all other files are served from the website itself, so your browser does not contact third parties such as Google. To deliver the site and protect it from attacks, the hosting provider Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you switch between light and dark mode, the choice is stored only in your own browser (local storage). It is not sent anywhere and you can delete it by clearing the site data.

3. Your files on the rented Mac

Files you store on the Mac are yours. We do not access them, except when you ask us to solve a technical problem or when it is necessary to investigate a serious breach of the rental terms. All your data is deleted from the Mac when the rental ends. Make your own backups.

If you process other people's personal data on the Mac, we act as your processor for that data. Contact us and we will sign a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.

4. Who receives your data

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or make automated decisions about you.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to jakub@mokris.cz and we will reply within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Czech supervisory authority: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, www.uoou.gov.cz.

6. Security

The website runs over encrypted HTTPS. Access to the Macs is only possible with an SSH key over an encrypted private network. Renters cannot access other accounts on the machine, and a renter's account and data are deleted when the rental ends.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
